We have come across a property that is in an estate.  The owner died recently.  How do we find out more about who is in charge of the estate.  Where would we find that information?   Can anyone guide us in the right direction?

If you know the decedent's name you can often look it up in the county records.  Dallas, Denton, and Collin County have their probate records online.  Tarrant is a little more difficult.  Go to the Probate Records Search section and type in the decedents name.  If an estate has been opened then it will show up.  Most of the applications to open the estate contain the attorney's name/number that helped open the estate.  Give the attorney a call and he can put you in contact with the administrator.
