Here an article from the Dallas Morning News

    http://www.dallasnews.com/news/dallas-city-hall/2016/09/28/dallas-get-tough-landlords-improves-standards-renters

From what I can see it seems fairly reasonable and its nowhere near as tough as other city's.

I wonder how they are going to enforce it. I know that some city prevent renters from turning on utilities unless the rental has been inspected.

I don't know that 15 inspectors would be enough for the hundreds of thousands of rental units in Dallas. I did some math and I don't see how they can inspect them all.

I think that it is interesting that the article says "Council members took up the issue as the city attorney's office began a major court fight with landlord Dennis Topletz over his dozens of low-quality, low-rent southern Dallas homes."

It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
