Anyone have recommendations on good places in the Garland area to get a decent, ‘lightly used’ or ‘scratch and dent’ appliances for a rental property.

Go to maps.google.com and zoom in on Garland.  Then do a search for "used appliances".  A bunch of results will light up.

Sears also has an outlet store...scratch and dent sales, new appliances with warranty.

Thank you for the suggestion Jesus. I have done the 'google search' for many things but unfortunately along with the good you also end up with the bad and the ugly. I prefer something more along the lines of searching the BBB website or any other source where there are reviews of the business ethics.

As well when I find a company that I like that has good product at a good price and they seem honest I like to pass it along to others to bring them more business. I was hoping for some personal recommendations.

You might try Habitat for Humanity ReStores. There's one in Garland on I30, one on Forest and the one in Plano on Summit is nice too. I've got some good buys there and it's for a good cause.(quite a few building supplies for quick rental fix-ups also)

Owning multiple rentals myself I found it most cost effective to just buy new from Lowes in the clearance section. When you add up the time spent looking for, driving to pick up, and then paying for delivery....its not that cheap after all. Also when you buy new you can charge more and also spend less on repairing it later on. Buying a $200 washer/ dryer set then paying $150 later to have someone fix it when it breaks down doesn't add up to me. Buy at lowes, they deliver for free. Its a phone call.

    Hope this helps!!
