What "big dollar" issues might be left off of a home inspection?

How confident can you be that you won't find large dollar value repairs after closing, if you opt to buy a home inspection?  I know some things like mold in the walls, or otherwise hidden can't be found along with other stuff hidden behind walls, under floors etc.  But should I expect an accurate report on the major things like foundation, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building code?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Watch out for things that can't be seen.  For example, drains in slab foundation on older house.  I am dealing with a house that has some issues there.  Next house I buy on a slab, I will pay plumber to run a camera both ways down the outside cleanout. That can be one expensive fix if the drain has to be replaced under slab.
