Cindy, I JUST setup my google voice, so I'm no expert. But if you haven't solved this issue yet, I've noticed a couple things that might have caused this. First, on the left, make sure you've clicked "Inbox" then make sure at the top you have selected "Show: All" Also, are you certain you have new voicemail? If not, call from a phone not in anyway associated to your google voice account, and leave yourself a voicemail to make sure.
All this is assuming you know how to get from google.com to your google voice inbox. If you're having trouble with that I'd be happy to help. Let me know.
