I saw an ad on craigslist for a job with a REI.  I was wondering if this was any of the club members.  How do yall feel about taking a job WITH an investor?  I'm hoping it would be a position that almost mimics a mentorship, but I'm being paid instead of paying.  Working with an established investor for a year or two would greatly boost my confidence in jumping into this career.  If anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate it.

    Mike.

Going to watch your discussion for replies. I responded to a post on craigslist. Met with him, he offered mentoring and training for $500. I would earn this money back with my first deal while studying for RE exam. He explained the pros of working with his broker. I would have to get my licences. Sounds good, even the fee of $500 is fine. I'm in Azle.. he lives in the Dallas area. Looking for an opportunity closer to home. I'm not sure that's a good fit for me.

Keep us posted if you meet with him/her,
    Melissa

I haven't yet responded to the ad, but it's been reposted as follows.

"Become a Real Estate Investor (North DFW)

If you can not attend a brief meeting this Wednesday night then do not reply to this ad. I need to be able to leverage my time affectively. We can determine where to go from there. You will make money in real estate if we decide to work together."
I'm thinking worst case scenario it's a Multi-Level Marketing scheme.  And if so I'll waste a few hours, but I'm thinking it might have potential, so I think I'll call them up.  I'll keep you all posted.
