Yesterday I was driving around the neighborhood driving for dollars and saw a code enforcement officer parked so I asked him about the bandit signs I keep seeing everywhere, obviously I didnt let him know I place them. I asked him about what fines are involved and he said anyone caught gets $1,000 fine! He then asked me if I wanted to be his vigilante and gave me his business card. He told me that If I see anyone placing them to take a picture of their car or license plate and email it to him. Has anyone been caught in the act or received a fine?

    David,

The fine for putting out bandit signs is not a $1,000 fine. It is a $1,000 fine / sign / day. The information on the sign is prima facia evidence in the case. And yes, a friend of mine was caught and prosecuted. I STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT place bandit signs in Fort Worth (other cities have different laws).
