I am working on doing my first new construction investment and am trying to navigate the permitting process in Fort Worth. As such they city has indicated I need a structural engineer to approve the plans for the foundation which is just a traditional slap, even though this is not called out on the checklist they provide you. Has anyone came across this and if this is really something I am going to need to do I would appreciate some recommendations for structural engineers?
