Hydrostatic Test?

I had a property fail its hydrostatic sewer test.  I need this to be fixed but I'd rather not use the company that did the current test.  Does anyone have any suggestions for this type of work?

I never heard of having to pass such a test. I can't imagine any house with cast iron sewer pipe older than 20 years being able to pass such a test. I'm curious though. Who says it has to pass this test? Water department? What city?

This is to keep the foundation warranty in place.  A foundation company did work and part of the post inspection/validation is to have a plumbing test and a sewer test.  If there is a leak, no matter how many piers they put in, it will never be ok.  So the hydrostatic test detected a sewer leak (which would explain a lot) and the foundation company's warranty is dependent on that test passing.  Since it failed, I need to diagnose where the leak is, and then have it repaired.  That's why I am looking for this service.

This is a common plumbing test done on older homes and homes with foundation work.  Good Luck if you have cast iron sewer pipes.  These pipes will more than likely all need to be replaced.  If it is PVC then your in luck as it is probably an elbow or tee that is leaking.  Unfortunately, I can not recommend any reasonable contractor.

Andrew this is Kenny... I've used the following Foundation company to do this type of repair on a house in Dallas. Just like Rocky said... it can be a PVC fix or it can be a challenging repair depending on the type of Plumbing and sewer line already in place..in my scenario they rerouted a new  sewer line all the way to the curb.

Andrew, every time I have had foundation work done I always request a hydrostatic test. AND, I have had a leak EVERY time. Most buyers request this test once they get word of foundation work so its best to get this out of the way. Call my guy, Ken if you like at 214-232-7864. He is a master plumber. While I find him to be a little expensive for other jobs he is very reasonable when it comes down to foundation plumbing.
